Why are Ragdoll kittens so expensive?
The Ragdoll is the world’s most popular cat breed. It is very expensive to properly raise Ragdoll kittens and maintain an ethical Ragdoll cattery, so Ragdoll Kitten Pricing is understandably high. We spare no expense when it comes to our cats and kittens.
Do you currently have Ragdoll kittens available?
As a small, ethical breeder, our queens are given ample time to rest between litters, so availability is limited.
Please visit our Available Kittens or Kitten Plans to check for current or upcoming litters. Feel free to contact us through the inquiry form if you’re interested.
How do I adopt a Mountain Tail Ragdoll kitten?
We’re honored that you’re considering one of our kittens!
To learn more about our adoption process, please visit our Adoption Information page.
Are you a registered Ragdoll breeder?
Yes, Mountain Tail Ragdolls is a registered cattery under AFSI and WCF.
Where are you located? Do you ship kittens internationally?
We are based in Gambarogno, in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland and our kittens have found loving homes throughout the country.
For international adopters, we collaborate with trusted flight nanny services – professionals who travel in-cabin with your kitten and deliver them safely to your nearest airport. We do not ship kittens via cargo. For detailed pickup or delivery options, please contact us directly.
Why are your kittens spayed/neutered before adoption?
Spaying/neutering is a core part of our ethical breeding program. It ensures:
- Prevention of accidental litters
- Reduced risk of certain health issues, like mammary cancer
- A safer, quicker recovery when performed before 5 months of age
- No behavioral or medical evidence suggesting harm from early sterilization
By the time your kitten comes home, this procedure is already completed allowing you to focus solely on bonding, playtime and care.
When can kittens leave to their FURever home?
Kittens are typically ready to join their new families between 14–16 weeks of age, depending on their individual development.
Are your cats and kittens seen by a veterinarian?
Absolutely. All of our adult cats and kittens receive regular veterinary care. Kittens are examined three times before going home, including:
- Full physical exams
- Vaccinations
- Deworming treatments
- Spay/neuter
Are your breeding cats health tested?
Yes. Health testing is integral to our program. We test for:
- Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) via bloodwork
- 50+ genetic diseases and blood type
- Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM)
- Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD)
- Routine fecal and respiratory screenings
Do you offer breeding rights?
We occasionally collaborate with other small, ethical, and registered Ragdoll breeders whose programs align with our standards and values.
If you’re a fellow breeder interested in connecting, we’d love to hear from you!
